EMS Annual Meeting, 06–11 Sep 2026, Utrecht & online: Call for abstracts until 27 March 2026

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society will take place as a hybrid event at Jaarbeurs conference centre in Utrecht, The Netherlands & online from 6 to 11 September 2026. The Programme and Science Committee together with conveners has developed a session programme that will offer many opportunities for collaboration across the entire weather and climate enterprise. We invite the community to join us for discussions and networking.

This year, a programmatic focus will be on Delta Climate in Europe: weather, water, and warnings - Advancing Atmospheric Science, Water Management, and Societal Preparedness in a Changing European Climate.

Abstract submission is now open until 27 March 2026.

The format

We will keep the hybrid setting for the oral programme to provide the option to participate and present online as well. Poster sessions, however, are foreseen as onsite-events (only) in Utrecht. For more details please consult the information on the meeting format.
We would like to mention that the Icebreaker will already take place on Sunday evening, 6 September 2026.
