The Nederlandse Vereniging ter bevordering van de Meteorologie (NVBM) was established in 1991, and currently has about 266 members. The aim of NVBM is to improve the quality in the meteorological professions with respect to scientific and social aspects. This means working on improvement and maintenance of professional knowledge, on the acknowledgement of the profession, and strengthening of bonds between members. Their main activities are producing a member magazine Meteorologica (Dutch only) four times a year and organize a symposium on topical subjects at least once a year, also providing opportunities for social gatherings and networking.

Members of NVBM have been active in organizing this EMS Annual Meeting, in particular its President Gert-Jan Steeneveld, provided local contacts for many activities, organised excursions, was searching for conference assistants and and has contributed a wide range of ideas and expertise to the organization.

The Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut (KNMI) located in De Bilt (near Utrecht), is the national research and information center for meteorology, climate, and seismology. KNMI contributes 24/7 to a safe and liveable Netherlands by providing society with independent knowledge, advice, and warnings about risks in the field of weather, climate, and seismology.

Members of KNMI have been active in organising this EMS Annual Meeting, in particular Rob Sluijter, provided local contacts for many activities, organized excursions and the daily weather briefing and ensured that all poster presenters could have their posters printed locally and organised transport to the conference centre.

The Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is an organization composed of a public technical research university and a non-profit research institute located in Wageningen, Netherlands, specializing in life sciences with a focus on agriculture, technical, and engineering subjects. At WUR, they innovate for a sustainable world. They combine cutting-edge research and education in climate, biodiversity, nutrition, and the living environment to improve the quality of life.

The Meteorology and Air Quality Group contributed to the identification of a programmatic focus for the conference and supported the local organization. Gert-Jan Steeneveld and Imme Bendikt made a remarkable contribution. As well as organizing a workshop, Imme Bendikt, together with Arjan Droste, is primarily responsible for organizing and running the social event (Pub Quiz) at the EMS Annual Meeting, and is also member of this year’s selection committee for the Outstanding Poster Award.

Delft University of Technology (Technische Universiteit Delft, TU Delft), founded in 1842, is the oldest and largest technical university in the Netherlands.

Members of TU Delft have been active in organizing this EMS Annual Meeting, in particular Arjan Droste, has been involved in organizing the excursions and together with Imme Benedikt, is primarily responsible for organizing and running the Pub Quiz on Wednesday evening.

PRIMET is a pan-European Trade Association for meteorological service providers operating in the private sector. It aims to promote a fair trading environment between the public and private sector in meteorology and its related disciplines.

PRIMET is inviting Early Career Scientists and convenors to a reception on Monday, funding this Apéro.

The Tromp Foundation (Foundation for Biometeorological Research), the legacy of Solco W. Tromp, is funding various awards at the EMS Annual Meetings with the intention to promote biometeorology in Europe. Biometeorology is an interdisciplinary science studying the interactions between atmospheric processes and living organisms – plants, animals, and humans. It provides answers to the question: How does weather and climate impact the well-being of all living beings?

The Tromp Foundation is supporting six young scientists with travel funds to attend the EMS2026 in Utrecht and funds the EMS Tromp Award for an outstanding achievement in biometeorology.

The "University Partnership for Atmospheric Sciences" (UPAS) initiative was launched by students, researchers and lecturers from the ten German universities that offer progressive degree programmes in meteorology at both Bachelor’s (BSc) and Master’s (MSc) level. UPAS is open to all university meteorologists at all levels and, with the support of a coordination office at the University of Bonn, aims to strengthen meteorology as a subject of study and a field of research at German universities and to develop it in a forward-looking manner.

UPAS is funding the Speed Networking event for Early Career Scientists this year in Utrecht.

The Harry Otten Foundation announces the Harry Otten Prize with a biennial cycle since 2011; invited are ideas that are innovative, practical, realizable, and bring Meteorology forward in society. The last Harry Otten Prize 2025 was awarded to Assaf Shmuel for his idea “Listening to the Forest: AI-Driven Meteo-Acoustic Early Warning System for Wildfire Detection”. The next candidates for 2027 will be invited to present their ideas at the Harry Otten Prize for Innovation in Meteorology: Finalists' Session at EMS2027.
