EMS2026, 06–11 Sep 2026: Final information for your attendance

Dear attendee, presenter, convener of the EMS2026,

The EMS Annual Meeting 2026 is a week away and we would like to provide you with some updates that may be useful for you.

First of all, note: Public transportation strike: Please note that on Wednesday, 9 September there will be a public transport strike for 24 hours!

  • Presentation upload: If you are giving an oral presentation, remember to upload your presentation at least 24 hours before the start of your session.
  • Poster presentation: If you have a poster presentation, please note the poster display and author in attendance times:
    Poster Session 1: Display time: Mon, 7 Sep 08:00 CEST - Tue, 8 Sep 18:00 CEST; Author in attendance time: Tue, 8 Sep, 16:30-18:00 CEST
    Poster Session 2: Display time: Wed, 9 Sep 14:00 CEST - Fri, 11 Sep 13:00 CEST; Author in attendance time: Thu, 10 Sep, 16:30-18:00 CEST
  • Guidelines for presenters, conveners, attendees, and side meeting organizers: Please check out the FAQ page for detailed information.
  • Registration & name badge pick-up: Please remember to complete your registration and payment online before you arrive at the conference venue. A self-service name badge printing will be in use in Utrecht. Please download your QR code from the "MyEMS2026" dashboard before you arrive at the conference or access it through the EMS2026 app on your mobile. Badge printers are located in the TransitZone in the Supernova area, in the vicinity of the information desk and will be active from Sunday, 6 September, at 16:00 CEST until 19:30 CEST. If you still have the lanyard from last year you are welcome to bring it along and use this for your badge. We encourage all participants to pick up their name badge already on Sunday to steer clear of any queues on Monday morning, and then join us for the Icebreaker on Sunday evening (18:00 CEST).
  • Online access to oral sessions: Access oral sessions virtually through zoom, for the opening and keynote plenaries also via the stream, all links will become available 15 minutes prior to the session on the session page. Any participation in a session, whether online or onsite, as presenter or attendee in zoom, requires a registration for the conference.
  • EMS2026 app: To access the session programme on your mobile device we recommend you download the EMS2026 app, which is available on the EMS2026 landing page; or search your respective app store.
  • Outstanding Poster Award 2026: If you are participating as a contestant, remember to upload your presentation file until 3 September. If the poster is not uploaded by the deadline, it will no longer be eligible for the award. To find this year's winner of the award we ask all attendees to contribute to the evaluation of the participating posters. Public voting is open Monday, 8 September and closes on Thursday, 11 September at 19:00 CEST. Onsite, participating posters are marked as OPA contestant; the list is available online and the link to the voting will be provided as a QR code on site and accessible via the conference app.
  • Overviews & downloads: A session overview, a poster overview, daily highlights, and daily programmes are available within the EMS2026 app and as download from the main conference page and the programme section respectively. If you prefer print-outs we invite you bring them already along.
  • Venue: To find the venue and plan your local travel please check out details on the public transport in Utrecht.
  • Please bring your own water bottle: Water dispensers will be located in the TransitZone.
  • Daily weather information: The weather information will be provided by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) each day in the morning coffee break between 10:40 and 10:55 on the weather briefing stage in the TransitZone.
